Smile
Honored Chief guests, Principal, teachers, and fellow classmates. A warm welcome to all of you. Today on this special occasion I would like to speak a few words on a human gesture- "Smile".
Smile is a simple and common gesture that is made a number of times a day by the people. There are a lot of things that bring a smile to our faces. For example, a piece of cake, our favorite dress, sweets, celebrations of a birthday or a festival, etc.
But our smile is not only restricted to things or occasions of our choice but it is something very instant when we were happy from inside. It not only impacts our personality but also other people. It's communicable in nature. When you smile at someone, often, you get the same in return.
It is a powerful tool that can change a person's mood. Try to smile at an angry man on the road, you will be amazed to see his disappearing anger. He/She may not smile back to you but his anger will come to halt for sure. In short, the smile is a curve that sets everything straight.
Smiling has a lot of benefits. When you smile often, you are away from many diseases such as stress, sadness, gloomy environment. Happy people are those who learn to smile even during difficult times.
One should smile often and make others smile too. It is very easy to make someone smile and spread smiles. We all are aware that what our loved ones like such as helping mothers cleaning the kitchen, giving your sibling his/her favourite toy from your collection, sharing drawing books with your friends, etc. It takes a very small gesture or activity to bring a smile on someone's face. Do practice that often. In the end, I would like to say that it takes less muscles to smile than to frown. Look, I gave you a reason to smile.
Smile, please! Thank you.
Generation Gap
Good morning! Respected Principal, teachers and my dear companions. I stand before u speak on the topic- Generation Gap.
Human beings are residing on this earth for a very very long time. Each generation has its own way of doing things. They have new ways that the older generation may not be aware of or have never practiced. This is what exactly known as the generation gap.
The generation gap is there because mankind is evolving and changing for the better. But sometimes this generation gap impacts our lives wrongly.
It is quite healthy and refreshing to have new ideas and ways of doing things. This shows how we are advancing and progressing in our lives. But these ideas can be clashing sometimes between two generations of people and become a topic of worry.
These clashes lead to distanced relations. It is usually observed between parents and kids. Parents feel that children have become too modern as per the societal norms. Children feel that parents are orthodox and do not understand their feelings.
This way conflict begins and they do not come to a particular solution. This is the biggest mistake. Parents should not pressurize their ideas on their kids and kids should also not out rightly reject their parent's ideas otherwise this will lead to misunderstanding and distanced relationships.
With a little understanding and care, we can bridge this gap. One should not give up on relationships just because of a difference of opinion. Both parties should understand that no one is completely wrong or right. One can reach a middle ground.
In the end, I want to say that the generation gap cannot be controlled as there are constant changes happening in the world. But we can strengthen our bridge between the gap by understanding each other and by never stop communicating.
Thank you, everyone.
Save Electricity
Good morning! Respected Principal, teachers and my dear companions. I stand before you to speak on the topic- "Save electricity".
Electricity is one of the greatest discoveries for mankind. The discovery of electricity was the beginning of greater things to come. Electricity has revolutionized the way of living.
Overtime electricity has become one of the essential resources and no individual can imagine life without it. But it is really important to save it, as it is a scarce and non -renewable resource.
One should not only save it at home but also workplaces, offices, and schools. Saving electricity should be the duty of every individual. Saving electricity also saves money.
We all need electricity for different purposes every day. Most of our daily activities are confined to electricity. We live in a country which is still developing and it has areas where there is no electricity even today. People in those areas are only dependent on sunlight. We should not waste such resources. We all are blessed with such a comfortable life, we should not take it for granted.
We as students should take up the responsibility to switch off lights and fans when not in use. We should also unplug appliances that are not in use. Each one of us should embrace sunlight during day time.
Parents and teachers should encourage students to play more outdoor games and less electronic games. Parents should also limit the time of watching television by their children.
In the end, I would like to say, it is always better to save electricity than to curse the darkness.
Thank You.
Respecting Elders
Good morning! Respected Principal, teachers and my dear companions, I stand before you to speak on the topic – "Respecting elders".
Since we all are social beings. We should learn to respect others, especially our elders. One should be polite and helpful to them. Because as soon as you could ever imagine, you are going to be old too.
A child is taught to respect elders by his parents at a very young age. Throughout school and college, he is constantly reminded of them while his personality develops. But still, we often forget to respect our elders. Respecting elders should come from within.
Respecting elders come under good habits and manners, it reflects your home, family, and upbringing. Everyone welcomes a well-behaved person. As we all know history repeats itself, if we will respect our elders today, then only we will get respect when we grow old.
There are many ways to show respect to them. For example, elders feel happy and honored when we include them in the decision making of the family. They are more experienced than us. So we should always ask for their advice. They also have walked the same path before us.
Another way is listening to them and following the traditions, which they have lived up to. We should also frequently visit them and invite them to our house too. We should often sit and eat with them. All this will help us to recognize and appreciate our elders.
Always remember that a man is always judged by his actions and every word or action has a reaction. So start respecting elders by being polite and gentle, if you want to succeed and be happy in life.
In the end, I would like to say, our elders are really precious and we should cherish them, for where would we be without them!
Thank you for your time and patience.
Biodiversity
Respected Principal, teachers and my dear companions. A very good morning to all of you. Today I stand before you to speak on an important topic- Biodiversity.
Biodiversity can be defined as the presence of different species of plants and animals on Earth. You must be thinking about why it is important? Let me share with you the reason. It plays a major role in maintaining the balance of the earth.
We live in cities and for many of us, wildlife is something we watch on television. It's importance is unknown to us. We are unaware of the reality that the air we breathe, the water we drink and the food we eat, all ultimately rely on biodiversity.
Some of the obvious examples are of plants and bees. Without plants, there would be no oxygen, and without bees to pollinate there would be no fruits or nuts.
Despite being so important for our survival, we are destroying our biodiversity. As our population is rising, we are clearing lands to create houses and industries. Another major factor which is destroying our biodiversity are poaching and unsustainable hunting.
The only answer to all these problems is giving nature the space and protection it needs. Wildlife reserves are one of the solutions to these problems. In my opinion, half of the land surface should be set aside for nature.
We all can make a difference when it comes to protecting our biodiversity. We should use the sustainable products that are made without affecting the environment. We should avoid using products like leather, timber, etc that affect biodiversity badly.
In the end, I would like to say that we should take all the essential steps in order to make our environment better.
Thank you for your time and patience.
