Population

A very good morning to one and all present here. Today, I will be giving a short speech on the topic of population.

Wikipedia defines the term as follows: "Population typically refers to the number of people in a single area, whether it be a city or town, region, country, continent, or the world."

Simply put, the population is the total count of the number of people inhabiting a certain space. The population of a given area is calculated to be the number of people living in that area measured on the 1st of January in a given year. The source for the same could be taken from the most recent population census. Census here is the official count or survey of a population.

Calculation of population is important because governments require this crucial information to plan in accordance and take the right decisions while governing a particular area. Again, for the betterment of society, to aid development, and help the distribution of resources, calculating population is important.

Thank you.

Pollution

A very good morning to one and all present here. Today, I will be giving a short speech on the topic of pollution.

Both Google and Wikipedia alike provide excellent definitions to define the term "pollution". Google states that pollution is, "the presence in or introduction into the environment of a substance which has harmful or poisonous effects."

Wikipedia, meanwhile, states that "Pollution is the introduction of contaminants into the natural environment that cause adverse change."

Simply put, pollution involves harming the environment by contaminating it with some kind of pollutant, often toxic in nature.

Pollution can take many forms. Broadly, pollution can be classified into air pollution, light pollution, litter, noise pollution, plastic pollution, soil contamination, radioactive contamination, thermal pollution, visual pollution, and water pollution. Here, air, water, and soil pollution are considered to be the most common forms of pollution.

Each and every kind of pollution that I've mentioned are very dangerous to both ourselves and our environment. Let us take measures to prevent pollution!

Thank you.

Politics

A very good morning to one and all present here. Today, I will be giving a short speech on the topic of politics.

Google defines the term "politics" to be "the activities associated with the governance of a country or area, especially the debate between parties having power." Wikipedia, on the other hand, defines it as "the set of activities that are associated with making decisions in groups, or other forms of power relations among individuals, such as the distribution of resources or status."

Politics thus concerns acts that are both to run a government and also to wield power to make decisions in individual groups and associations. In this sense, politics is something that is present everywhere, both at macro and micro levels.

A whole field of social studies has been dedicated to the field of politics, termed political science. This field of study is gaining a lot of popularity today with more and more youngsters actively taking part in politics and wanting to pursue the same.

Thank you.

Plastic Pollution

A very good morning to one and all present here. Today, I will be giving a short speech on the topic of plastic pollution.

Wikipedia defines the term as follows: "Plastic pollution is the accumulation of plastic objects and particles in the Earth’s environment that adversely affects humans, wildlife and their habitat."

Simply put, plastic pollution involves the excessive use of plastic and its poor disposal thereof affecting living beings and the surrounding environment negatively. It severely disrupts the landscape, sometimes irreversibly so.

Degradation of almost every environmental variety, be it land or water or soil, is majorly caused by plastic pollution.

To avoid plastic pollution and its dire consequences, post its usage, plastic ought to be disposed of properly. Because plastic is non-biodegradable, it will not decompose with the soil for thousands of years and will continue to affect the quality of the land, water, or soil present for years to come!

Segregate plastic and dispose of it in the right dustbin to avoid plastic pollution.

Thank you.

The Importance Of Unity

Good morning everyone present here, today I am going to give a speech on the importance of unity. Unity stands for cooperation. As a result, it is helping one another in both big and minor situations. Numerous myths and real-life incidents have shown that social cohesion is always the key to achieving harmony and fulfillment. On the other hand, many people still do not understand how important it is to preserve unity.

Before giving in to loneliness, people dispute incessantly about little matters. Maintaining our unity is beneficial to both our development and that of the country. Additionally beneficial to both the family in general and a child’s overall development. We are inspired and driven to work harder when we collaborate. Additionally, we encourage one another to reach the objectives, which is a powerful motivator.

If each person is willing to put aside his interests and work for the good of the country as a whole, the government’s role in fostering unity can be accomplished. Political leaders must be picked with the utmost care because a corrupt political system can never make a nation rich. Additionally, the government must facilitate it by enforcing the necessary legal restrictions.

Our nation has a wide economic divide that needs to be closed by the government. People need to be educated on a variety of issues about the development of the nation, as well as the value of togetherness. The school curriculum ought to include this. There are plenty of additional ways to accentuate it as well. Thank you.

Procrastination

A very good morning to one and all present here. Today, I will be giving a short speech on the topic of procrastination.

Google defines the term "procrastination" to be "the action of delaying or postponing something." Any act that one puts off to be done for later would thus be considered procrastination!

"Procrastination is like a credit card: it’s a lot of fun until you get the bill", says Christopher Parker, the famous English actor!

Procrastination can be divided into 3 broad categories: classic procrastination, creative avoidance, and priority dilution. Classic procrastination is pretty self-explanatory in nature wherein one merely puts off things. Creative avoidance is to make up excuses for not doing a given work by citing justifications whereas priority dilution is to put off something deeming it unimportant at that moment. All of these are equally bad!

As noted American aphorist Mason Cooley states, "Procrastination makes easy things hard, hard things harder."

Finish that work you have kept waiting to be done! Don't procrastinate.

Thank you.

Poverty

A very good morning to one and all present here. Today, I will be giving a short speech on the topic of poverty.

Wikipedia defines the term as follows: "Poverty is the state of having few material possessions or little income. Poverty can have diverse social, economic, and political causes and effects."

Poverty is a serious issue that plagues the people of the world as a whole, irrespective of their race, ethnicity, creed, caste, or gender. It is a universal phenomenon that affects not just individuals but nations as a whole.

There are, in fact, many ways in which poverty can be categorized into. They are Situational poverty, Generational poverty, Absolute poverty, Relative poverty, Urban poverty, and Rural poverty.

Poverty is accompanied by various other problems such as substandard housing, hunger, homelessness, inadequate childcare, unsafe neighbourhoods, and under-resourced schools. Poverty thus forces people to lead a life lacking basic necessities to survive.

Three of the world's most impoverished nations, sadly, are Burundi, South Sudan and the Central African Republic.

Thank you.

Positive Thinking

A very good morning to one and all present here. Today, I will be giving a short speech on the topic of positive thinking.

Positive thinking as a term is in itself pretty self-explanatory. Positive thinking essentially involves thinking positive thoughts and having a positive attitude in life as opposed to entertaining negativity.

Simply put, positive thinking is to have an optimistic approach to life. It is to not let oneself be deterred by the various hurdles and obstacles life is to surely throw one's way.

Studies, in fact, prove that positive thinking improves the overall well-being of one's self, both mentally and physically. One can practice positive thinking by following simple measures in everyday life like changing one's perspective for the better, smiling and being kind to others, practicing self-compassion, not taking things personally, and being happy for others’ success.

"Once you replace negative thoughts with positive ones, you’ll start having positive results", says Willie Nelson, the famous American musician.

Think positively! Nothing can go wrong!

Thank you.
