Rain Water Harvesting

A very good morning to one and all present here. Today, I will be giving a short speech on the topic of rain water harvesting.

Wikipedia defines the term as follows: "Rainwater harvesting is the collection and storage of rain, rather than allowing it to run off. Rainwater is collected from a roof-like surface and redirected to a tank, cistern, deep pit, aquifer, or a reservoir with percolation, so that it seeps down and restores the ground water."

Broadly, there are various types of rain water harvesting. Namely, they are Water Butt, Direct-Pumped (Submersible), Direct-Pumped (Suction), Indirect Gravity, Indirect Pumped, and Gravity Only.

Similarly, there are different ways by which rain water harvesting can be practiced. They are Rain Barrel Installation, Dry System, Wet System, Green Roof, Surface runoff, and Rooftop rainwater.

Rain water harvesting is an excellent way by which rain water that would otherwise go to waste can be saved and used efficiently.

Thank you.

Rain

A very good morning to one and all present here. Today, I will be giving a short speech on the topic of rain.

Wikipedia states the following to define the term "rain": "Rain is water droplets that have condensed from atmospheric water vapor and then fall under gravity. Rain is a major component of the water cycle and is responsible for depositing most of the fresh water on the Earth."

This, of course, is rather scientific and mechanical, isn't it? Yes, rain is an important source of water required for our sustenance. But, in reality, rain has more artistic notions associated with it!

Even in literature, rain is associated with both positive and negative connotations alike. Rain could be gentle and romantic in one poem and dark, violent, and gloomy in another! There is a whole nursery rhyme attributed to rain that we are all accustomed to, in fact!

Rain, in general, however, is a welcome phenomenon, storms and unpleasant floods notwithstanding. Rain gives life.

Thank you.

Racism

A very good morning to one and all present here. Today, I will be giving a short speech on the topic of racism.

Google defines the term "racism" to be "prejudice, discrimination, or antagonism by an individual, community, or institution against a person or people on the basis of their membership of a particular racial or ethnic group, typically one that is a minority or marginalized." It also states that racism involves "the belief that different races possess distinct characteristics, abilities, or qualities, especially so as to distinguish them as inferior or superior to one another."

Simply put, racism is to discriminate and oppress a person on the basis of their race. Although racism is predominantly viewed in the light of the White community establishing their superiority over the Black community, this behaviour of theirs also extends to other races and ethnicities such as Asian.

Racism ought to be eradicated. Human beings as a whole need to come to the understanding that all of us are equal.

Thank you.

iPhone Vs Android

Good morning everyone present here, today I am going to give a speech on iPhone vs Android. In the present smartphone industry, both Android and Apple phones are popular mobile devices that have several important traits and functions.

Apple goods stand out for their additional safety precautions, while Android devices use their battery power more effectively. When thinking about buying either iPhones or Android alternatives, a prospective customer has to be able to discern between the overall benefits and drawbacks.

The most popular operating system for mobile devices is Android, although it is less updated than other operating systems and less secure as a result. Because security breaches have become more serious, quick upgrades are more crucial than ever.

The fact that millions of Android phones are still on software that is many years old puts them at risk for such catastrophic breaches. Apple has a clear advantage over Android due to its careful monitoring of applications and capacity to provide updates to more devices. Additionally, the business encrypts data in iMessage and other programs.

Both operating systems have an energy-saving option that can lengthen the battery life cycle, but Android makes the process considerably simpler. Regarding the fundamental smartphone characteristics, both Android and Apple phones have several similarities, thus a consumer’s decision is based on their preferences and wants.

Due to the robust security measures used by the corporation, Apple products are crucially protected from all viruses and data leaks. In the case of Android phones, the battery life is more dependable in terms of the duration of active usage. Thank you.

Punctuality

A very good morning to one and all present here. Today, I will be giving a small speech on the topic of punctuality.

Wikipedia defines the term "punctuality" as follows: "Punctuality is the characteristic of being able to complete a required task or fulfill an obligation before or at a previously designated time."

Simply put, punctuality, as Google rightly states, is "the fact or quality of being on time." Thus, by extension, punctuality would also involve not being late.

Punctuality is a trait every one of us here must aim to acquire. Being punctual creates a respectable image of ourselves to the outside world. Not being late shows the world that we are responsible and take the given work seriously. It helps build a positive image of us thus. Again, completing tasks punctually is also a burden off our backs and will help us breathe a little easier!

"Better three hours too soon than a minute too late," said Shakespeare.

Be on time, be punctual!

Thank you.

Proverb

A very good morning to one and all present here. Today, I will be giving a small speech on the topic of "Proverb".

Google defines the term "proverb" to be "a short, well-known pithy saying, stating a general truth or piece of advice."

Wikipedia puts this a bit more elaborately. It states "A proverb is a simple and insightful, traditional saying that expresses a perceived truth based on common sense or experience. Proverbs are often metaphorical and use formulaic language."

So yes, proverbs are witty in nature. Their meaning would often not be easy to unpack at first glance. It would almost always have a deeper meaning within, very likely delivered by someone or something wise!

At some point in life or the other, we must all have surely heard of some proverb or the other. Some of them would include "All that glitters is not gold", "The apple doesn’t fall far from the tree", and "A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush".

Thank you.

Pros and Cons of Online Learning

A very good morning to one and all present here. Today, I will be giving a small speech on the topic of "Pros and Cons of Online Learning".

As is the case of anything done online nowadays, online learning also has its fair share of pros and cons. Allow me to cite what are the pros first.

One of the major pros of online learning that could be observed ever since the COVID-19 Global Pandemic is that it made learning possible at all! To pursue education from the comfort of one's home without inculcating additional travelling and other charges is made possible only through online learning. Again, because it is virtual, getting relevant texts would also be easy and free. All in all, it is cost-efficient.

Looking at the cons, whether or not significant learning is happening with online learning is questionable. Youngsters nowadays are prone to get distracted by other forms of social media presence online, which would be a major con.

Thank you.

Relationship

A very good morning to one and all present here. Today, I will be giving a short speech on the topic of "relationship".

Google defines the term "relationship" to be "the way in which two or more people or things are connected, or the state of being connected."

Simply put, the way people are seen in relation to one another or other things is thus what the word happens to mean.

Broadly, relationships can be classified into 4 different categories. They are Family relationships, Friendships, Acquaintanceships and Romantic relationships. Friends and acquaintances are terms we must all be familiar with and are pretty self-explanatory in nature.

Under familial relationships, we can have people related either by blood or by married. Blood relations of course would encompass both our immediate family and those closely connected through parents, grandparents, etc.

Under romantic relationships in themselves, there are further sub-divisions such as monogamous, open, polyamorous, long-distance, casual, and so on!

No matter what the relationship is, it must be healthy, not toxic.

Thank you.
