Overpopulation

A very good morning to one and all present here. Today, I will be giving a short speech on the topic of overpopulation.

Wikipedia defines the term "overpopulation" to be "Overpopulation or overabundance is a phenomenon in which a species’ population becomes larger than the carrying capacity of its environment."

However, taking into consideration that overpopulation is typically associated with the human race in general, let us focus on that particular aspect. After all, no concerns have been raised thus far with regard to other species!

George Morris has in fact defined overpopulation to be "when there are more people than can live on the earth in comfort, happiness, and health and still leave the world a fit place for future generations."

China is the most populated country in the world.

Overpopulation, in fact, levies a negative consequence for society and the environment at large. More people simply means a higher demand for necessities of survival, denting the already meagre resources!

Thank you.

Overcoming Fear

A very good morning to one and all present here. Today, I will be giving a short speech on the topic of overcoming fear.

Before we begin to talk about overcoming fear, let us first look at what exactly the term "fear" means. Google lays down two definitions. The first is "an unpleasant emotion caused by the threat of danger, pain, or harm" whereas the second is to "be afraid of (someone or something) as likely to be dangerous, painful, or harmful."

Fear thus involves the whole notion of being afraid of any inanimate object or thing or any actual live human being or any other living thing.

In this sense, fear is nothing more than a hindrance or obstacle in life. More often than not, fear happens to be a hurdle stopping one from actualizing their dreams and aspiration.

To overcome these irrational fears thus, one ought to learn to face them. For only when we learn to face our fears can we outgrow them and achieve well!

Thank you.

Outdoor Games

A very good morning to one and all present here. Today, I will be giving a short speech on the topic of outdoor games.

Outdoor games, as the title suggests, refer to any game that is played outdoors, not indoors. Essentially, outdoor games involve being performed in the open, without being confined to the limited space of a house, building, or any other closed space or environment.

In this sense, an outdoor game can be played in any broad, open space, ranging from a wide playground to even, say, a plush, sandy, beach. Why, even one's own backyard can be taken to play outdoor games, considering that they are, technically speaking, outside the house!

Common outdoor games especially played in Pakistan include Kho Kho, Football, Volleyball, Kabaddi, Cricket, Baseball, Archery, and its own national sport, Hockey.

From the above-mentioned games, it can be understood that games here at not just merely for recreational purposes today but are now dentified for their athletic prowess both nationally and internationally.

Thank you.

Perseverance

A very good morning to one and all present here. Today, I will be giving a short speech on the topic of perseverance.

Google defines the term "perseverance" to be "persistence in doing something despite difficulty or delay in achieving success."

Simply put, perseverance is the continuous, tenacious effort one puts in over and beyond regular hard work to do or achieve something despite difficulties, failure, opposition, or any other hurdle come what may.

Perseverance is an excellent quality each and every one of us must strive to attain. It is only a perseverant person after all who can aspire to attain the most success in life.

All of us here must be familiar with the famous quote by Charles Spurgeon, "By perseverance, the snail reached the ark." Indeed, perseverance is the way to doggedly or stubbornly go after what we most desire.

I'd like to conclude with another quote by Walter Eliot, "Perseverance is not a long race; it is many short races one after the other."

Thank you.

Pencil

A very good morning to one and all present here. Today, I will be giving a short speech on the topic of pencil.

Both Google and Wikipedia provide a detailed definition of what a pencil means. Google defines it to be "an instrument for writing or drawing, consisting of a thin stick of graphite or a similar substance enclosed in a long thin piece of wood or fixed in a cylindrical case."

Wikipedia, on the other hand, defines the term "pencil" to be "a writing or drawing implement with a solid pigment core in a protective casing that reduces the risk of core breakage and keeps it from marking the user’s hand. Pencils create marks by physical abrasion, leaving a trail of solid core material that adheres to a sheet of paper or other surfaces."

Simply put, what these meanings say in a roundabout fashion is that a pencil is a graphite object used to write and draw!

Pen might advent now but pencils ruled from before!

Thank you.

Plants

A very good morning to one and all present here. Today, I'll be giving a short speech on the topic of "Plants".

Google defines the term "plant" to be "a living organism of the kind exemplified by trees, shrubs, herbs, grasses, ferns, and mosses, typically growing in a permanent site, absorbing water and inorganic substances through its roots, and synthesizing nutrients in its leaves by photosynthesis using the green pigment chlorophyll."

In this sense, plants are living things that are not animals, prokaryotes, algae, or fungi. Scientifically speaking, plants are majorly photosynthetic eukaryotes belonging to the kingdom Plantae.

Studies point out that about 320,000 plant species are currently known to exist on Earth. They are full of variety, some being able to produce flowers and fruits, some being edible, while some being poisonous! Again, there are about 6147 plant species that are deemed to be endangered or critically endangered.

Interestingly, Bracken is considered t to be the most common plant in the world and is found everywhere except Antarctica.

Thank you.

Patriotism

Good morning to one and all present here. Today, I'll be giving a short speech on the topic of "Patriotism".

Wikipedia defines the term "patriotism" to be "the feeling of love, devotion, and sense of attachment to one’s country. This attachment can be a combination of many different feelings, language relating to one’s own homeland, including ethnic, cultural, political or historical aspects."

Simply put, patriotism is to love and support one's country or motherland. To be patriotic thus involves feeling pride on account of one's nation.

Patriotism is thus a word closely associated with nationalistic sentiments. Adlai Stevenson, former governor of Illinois, has in fact once said, "Patriotism is not short, frenzied outbursts of emotion, but the tranquil and steady dedication of a lifetime."

Patriotism is hence not an emotion that will pass by after a short, considerate period of time but is rather, a long-term, lifelong process throughout one's life.

At the same time, patriotism shouldn't be blind. One must criticize their land should the need arise.

Thank you.

Plastic

A very good morning to one and all present here. Today, I will be giving a short speech on the topic of "Plastic".

Google defines the term "plastic" to be "a synthetic material made from a wide range of organic polymers such as polyethylene, PVC, nylon, etc., that can be molded into shape while soft, and then set into a rigid or slightly elastic form."

Plastic is usually considered to be synthetic or semi-synthetic in nature. Plastic is considered to be extremely useful and can be recycled, coloured, reused, moulded or drawn into wires or various other shapes.

Plastic plays a huge role in all of our lives, especially in our routine day-to-day activities. They are used in various types of bottles from water bottles to shampoo bottles, storage containers, pipes and lines, wire insulation, flooring in buildings, automobile parts, medical components, toys, and so on!

However, keeping in mind the harmful side effects of plastic and the danger it poses to the environment, it should be handled with care.

Thank you.
