The Importance Of Co-curricular Activities

Good morning everyone present here, today I am going to give a speech on the importance of co-curricular activities. Co-Curricular Activities, often known as “extracurricular Activities,” are extracurricular activities that are both a part of school life and the regular academic curriculum. Better grades can make all the difference when applying for admission to other schools, universities, or institutions in this fiercely competitive world. Better possibilities are provided by co-curricular activities since pupils who participate in them are given precedence over those who don’t. According to studies, students who engage in one or more hobbies perform better academically.

Co-curricular activities help students study more effectively and find and develop their inherent capabilities, such as creativity, public speaking, and leadership abilities. These activities allow the students to think of original solutions to problems or questions, which enriches their learning experience.

Students are exposed to a variety of exercises that improve their strength while allowing them to select the lessons they want to learn and enjoy.

Through many forms of activities including debates, extempore, and recitation, co-curricular activities in schools assist students in developing their communication skills, expression abilities, public speaking, involvement, and sense of belonging. competitions in arts and crafts, in-class exercises like reading, in-group debates, and many others. In the end, this aids in the development of their total personality. Even if some students struggle in the classroom, they excel in other areas like sports, music, and other performing arts. Thank you.

Never Give Up

A very good morning to one and all present here. Today, I will be giving a short speech on the topic of "Never Give Up".

Nelson Mandela, the renowned President of South Africa had said "A winner is a dreamer who never gives up." Indeed, never giving up is a crucial aspect of our lives.

It is important to understand that as desirable as success is in life, failure is equally important. Failure, in fact, is merely the stepping stone for success and thus becomes an integral learning process everyone ought to experience.

Thus, one should never shirk from failures or disappointments in life. They must never give up for not succeeding is not the end of the world! To never give up, that is, to remain persistent and determined is in fact the key to looming success in future.

Thomas Alva Edison, the greatest scientist had said "Our greatest weakness lies in giving up." Let us all vow to never give up thus!

Ocean

A very good morning to one and all present here. Today, I will be giving a short speech on the topic of the "Ocean".

Google defines the term "ocean" to be "a very large expanse of sea, in particular each of the main areas into which the sea is divided geographically."

Ocean, simply put, is a large water body that consists of salt water. Approximately, it covers 70% of the Earth's surface and is said to contain 97% of the Earth's water as a whole.

In the world, there are 5 oceans prevalent. They are the Arctic Ocean, Southern Ocean, Indian Ocean, Atlantic Ocean, and Pacific Ocean. Here, the Arctic Ocean is the smallest whereas the Pacific Ocean is the biggest. The Southern or Antarctic Ocean was recognized as one only later.

Technically speaking, there exists only one ocean on planet Earth- the Global ocean, that is. However, different ocean names have been given to the 5 oceans based on geographical, navigational, scientific, and historical reasons.

Thank you.

Obesity

A very good morning to one and all present here. Today, I will be giving a short speech on the topic of obesity.

World Health Organization (WHO) defines obesity or overweight to be "abnormal or excessive fat accumulation that presents a risk to health."

A body mass index (BMI) over 25 is considered to be overweight whereas BMI over 30 is termed to be obese. Studies have proven that over 4 million people die of obesity each year, including young adolescents and teenagers.

Predominantly, obesity is caused by "eating too much and moving too little". That is, leading a sedentary lifestyle is a sure way of inviting obesity. Google further states that "Obesity often results from taking in more calories than are burned by exercise and normal daily activities."

Changing one's lifestyle, including a change in diet and exercise would help reverse obesity. Junk foods ought to also be avoided at all costs.

March the 4th is observed as World Obesity Day worldwide in view of the same.

Thank you.

Organ Donation

A very good morning to one and all present here. Today, I will be giving a short speech on the topic of Organ Donation.

Wikipedia defines the term "Organ Donation" to be "the process when a person allows an organ of their own to be removed and transplanted to another person, legally, either by consent while the donor is alive or dead with the assent of the next of kin."

From the given meaning, it can be gathered that organ donation is a safe and viable option taken for the sake of saving the lives of not just close ones but is also done out of noble intentions to save others in desperate need of vital organs to survive. Common organs donated include kidneys, livers, hearts, lungs, eyes, pancreas and intestines.

However, nowadays, organ trafficking is becoming more and more prevalent. Here, the donation of organs is not consensual but is rather acquired forcefully, often without the knowledge of the donor.

Please report immediately on such occasions.

Thank you.

Online Classes

A very good morning to one and all present here. Today, I will be giving a short speech on the topic of Online Classes.

Online classes – two words that have rocked the entire world ever since the Covid-19 Global Pandemic lockdown was imposed in 2020.

Gone are the days when teachers confiscate any form of electronic gadget in the classroom. Nowadays, it is not uncommon to find educators themselves teaching from virtual platforms!

Indeed, it can not be denied that online classes are meritorious. Learning and acquiring knowledge is now a mere fingertip away. It also doesn't hurt that all the reading materials available in the internet are free of cost! In this sense, online classes are cost-efficient.

At the same time, the ill effects of online classes cannot be ignored. Staring at mobile phones and laptops for long, uninterrupted periods of time puts a lot of strain on the eyes, making this option unhealthy.

Yet, online classes have made way for uninhibited learning all the same.

Thank you.

Patience

A very good morning to one and all present here. Today, I will be giving a short speech on the topic of "Patience".

Mary Pierce, the noted tennis player had once wisely said, “Sometimes things aren’t clear right away. That’s where you need to be patient and persevere and see where things lead.”

What exactly is this patience?

Google defines the term "patience" to be "the capacity to accept or tolerate delay, problems, or suffering without becoming annoyed or anxious."

Patience, simply put, is the ability to possess the capacity to wait, be it for a person or waiting for a goal, dream, aspiration, or ambition to actualize.

It is often confused with the word "patients" due to the similarity in pronunciation between the two terms. However, these two are vastly different in nature wherein patience is considered to be a "virtue" one ought to uphold.

Jean Jacques Rousseau, the eminent philosopher had said, "Patience is bitter but its fruit is sweet."

Be patient!

Thank you.

Passion

A very good morning to one and all present here. Today, I''ll be giving a short speech on the topic of "Passion".

Wikipedia defines the word "passion" to be "a term used to denote strong and intractable or barely controllable emotion or inclination with respect to a particular person or thing."

Passion is thus an emotion that can be best described to be uncontrollable or irrepressible in nature. Again, as the definition so aptly describes, passion, or rather, being passionate involves not just people but even objects.

In this sense, a person's goals, aspirations, dreams, and ambitions could qualify to become a passion, just as much as their hobbies and other interests can. Again, a person who could be an inspiration or someone one happens to look up to could become a passion to obsess over.

No matter what, one should never let this passion die out in life, just as Oprah Winfrey said, "Passion is energy. Feel the power that comes from focusing on what excites you."

Thank you.
