Green House Effect

Good morning to one and all present here. Today, I'll be giving a short speech on the topic of the Green House Effect.

Google defines the greenhouse effect to be "the trapping of the sun’s warmth in a planet’s lower atmosphere, due to the greater transparency of the atmosphere to visible radiation from the sun than to infrared radiation emitted from the planet’s surface."

In layman's terms, the greenhouse effect refers to the process by which greenhouse gases absorb the thermal radiation emitted by a planet's- here, the Earth's- surface and re-radiate it in every direction. Because this radiation occurs on the surface and lower atmosphere of Earth, it consequently increased its average surface temperature. Common greenhouse gases which do this would be carbon dioxide, methane, and ozone.

While this natural process is a good thing, increased emission of greenhouse gases is dangerous. Increased heating could result in dire consequences such as the thawing of glacial masses, excessive flooding, and even violent hurricanes.

Thank you.

Importance of Newspaper

Good morning to one and all present here. Today, I'll be giving a short speech on the topic of the importance of newspaper.

With the advent of digital media, it might seem as though newspapers have become a thing of the past. However, this is not true.

Google defines a newspaper to be "a printed publication (usually issued daily or weekly) consisting of folded unstapled sheets and containing news, articles, advertisements, and correspondence." Yet, in many households even today, it is much more than a "few unstapled sheets."

Belonging to print media, newspapers are a crucial source for the provision of news. While digital media could indeed provide instant updates on what is going on in the world, newspapers provide a much more detailed, in-depth view of the news.

It cannot be denied that digital media also circulates various fake news. With newspapers, the authenticity of the news is rarely questioned.

With its neat segregation of news into sections, newspapers still are predominantly read by the people.

Thank you.

Gadgets

Good morning to one and all present here. Today, I'll be giving a short speech on the topic of gadgets.

Google defines a gadget to be "a small mechanical or electronic device or tool, especially an ingenious or novel one."

The most common electronic gadget that we humans are aware of and make the most use of is the smartphone. Various gadgets have been invented for our use to make our lives simpler. These include IPADs, Tablets, Laptops MP3 players, Webcams, Hard drives, Microphones, Digital cameras, Headphones, and Memory sticks.

Indeed, life without gadgets seems impossible nowadays. Communication, especially, is the most important use of gadgets, without which we would have to revert to good old pigeons and swans for delivering messages!

Modern gadgets have also enabled us to store a lot more personal files and memories than what we had been able to a decade or two back. Important Pdfs, presentations, and meetings can be easily done now. Music and games, pursuits of pleasure, are now made easier too!

Thank you.

Family Values

Good morning everyone present here, today I am going to give a speech on family values. Living in Pakistan, we are all aware that the first question someone asks about you anytime you interact with them is about their family. Our culture and traditions hold the idea that you carry your family’s name and values with you wherever you go. In society and the world we live in, family genuinely provides us with an identity.

Family values are the moral precepts or expectations of conduct that one believes to be valuable and worthwhile. It is up to the family to handle any crisis or issue with grace, respect, and patience. Family disputes or disagreements should also be addressed maturely to avoid demeaning anyone or acting in a condescending manner.

Although family values vary from family to family, they all contribute to a family’s viewpoint on life, perspective on their circumstances, and sense of identity by enabling family members to better comprehend their history. One of the values of the reason is so crucial to families is that they can give family members a sense of purpose and meaning, especially in times of difficulty and crisis. When people aren’t living in close accordance with their ideals, they may even experience a sense of hopelessness.

Values are important because they provide the foundation for safety, guidance, love, and support. Family values can protect and guide children from making unfavorable judgments in the future because they instill a sense of right and wrong. They can improve relationships and influence behaviors, attitudes, and parenting strategies. Our actions and our responses to various circumstances and problems are greatly influenced by our ideas. Thank you.

Helicopter

Good morning to one and all present here. Today, I will be giving a short speech on the topic of "Helicopter".

Google defines a helicopter to be "a type of aircraft which derives both lift and propulsion from one or more sets of horizontally revolving overhead rotors. It is capable of moving vertically and horizontally, the direction of motion being controlled by the pitch of the rotor blades."

Simply put, a helicopter is a mode of airway transportation. The word "helicopter" is derived from the Greek terms comes helix and pteron, which mean "spiral" and “wing” respectively. Put together, it refers to an aircraft that operates without wings, obtaining its lift from the rotation of overhead blades. Subsequently, it can be noted that it is also adopted from the French word "helicoptre". Common synonyms of a helicopter include "chopper", "copter", "eggbeater", "whirlybird", and "rotorcraft".

A helicopter is mainly used for military purposes, especially the search and rescue of people caught in hard-to-reach places.

Hard Work vs Smart Work

Good morning to one and all present here. Today, I will be giving a short speech on the topic of "Hard Work vs Smart Work".

Hark work is often misconstrued to be smart work. This is not so. While hard work does have its merits, smart work is observed to prove better results.

Hard work refers to a more hands-on approach to things. Smart work, whereas, puts the brain to good use. In many cases, smart work is more beneficial and it saves time while still being productive. Again, it is also seen to cut down costs by employing creativity, unlike hard work.

Again, it can be noted that given its methods, the focus of hard work tends to lean towards the quantity of the work. However, smart work involves paying equal weightage to both the quantity and the quality of the work produced, making it that much better.

Thus, while hard work is effective, smart work is both effective and efficient.

Thank you.

Handling Peer Pressure

Good morning to one and all present here. Today, I will be giving a short speech on the topic of "Handling Peer Pressure".

Google defines peer pressure to be "influence from members of one’s peer group." In reality, it is so much more than that.

Peer pressure, more than being called a mere influence, is more like an irreversible impact on one's mental health. This, more often than not, is not positive in many cases. It becomes mandatory to learn how to handle this peer pressure.

Perhaps the first thing to do is communicate your feelings. Either to the person who is making you feel as such or to your parents, communicate the pressure that you are feeling on account of whatever it is. In most cases, they might genuinely be not aware and work towards it.

Learn to trust your own feelings and instincts. Take help from close ones and indulge in self care.

Peer pressure might destroy you. Slowly but steadily, learn to let it not win.

Thank you.

Green Revolution

Good morning to one and all present here. Today, I will be giving a short speech on the topic of the "Green Revolution".

Google lays down two definitions of the green revolution, both of which are interconnected with each other. The first is "a large increase in crop production in developing countries achieved by the use of artificial fertilizers, pesticides, and high-yield crop varieties" while the second is "a dramatic rise in concern about the environment in industrialized countries."

Simply put, the green revolution is the significant increase in agricultural production that has been made possible by the use of various new types of crops and different new farming methods which had not been previously employed, especially in developing countries.

This skyrocketing production allowed for the previously suffering farmers to even have a comfortable surplus to export! Many nations developed this way, including Pakistan.

Thank you.
