Grandparents

Good morning to one and all present here. Today, I will be giving a short speech on the topic of "Grandparents".

Google defines the term "grandparent" to be "a parent of one’s father or mother; a grandmother or grandfather."

Grandparents are often referred to as treasures that are cherished by the family. Indeed, they are the ones who shower us with unconditional love, love that sometimes even rivals our parents' love!

Be it chocolate, books, or toys, grandparents buy them for us without hesitation. With grandmothers cooking us tasty and healthy food and reading us interesting and funny moral tales aloud with our grandfathers, grandparents take it upon themselves to keep us happy. Prioritizing our joy over everything else, then even help save us from the wrath of our parents over our mischief at times!

Yet, sometimes, we intentionally or unintentionally hurt our grandparents, either through words or actions. Sometimes, even our parents do. Let us refrain from this, not neglect them and care for them!

Thank you.

Goal Setting

Good morning to one and all present here. Today, I will be giving a short speech on the topic of "goal setting".

According to Wikipedia, goal setting involves "the development of an action plan designed in order to motivate and guide a person or group toward a goal."

Goals. Now, a goal is defined by Google to be "the object of a person’s ambition or effort; an aim or desired result." From this, it can be understood that goals and goal setting are very important in our lives.

To realize our dreams and ambitions- our goals, that is, hard work and perseverance are very important. However, they are not the first step to achieving these desires.

The first thing to be done is goal setting. In order to actualize them, we need to set these goals first. It might sound redundant, but many fail to do this step.

Goal setting is what breaks the fine line between dreams you want to pursue and mere wishful thinking. Set goals, achieve them!

Thank you.

How To Handle A Bad Habit

Good morning to one and all present here. Today, I'll be giving a small speech on the topic of "How To Handle A Bad Habit".

Bad habits, as we can so obviously defer from the name, are bad. But, when we look at it deeply, at the end of the day, whether it is just nail biting or severe drug addiction, bad habits are just that- addictions we find difficult to overcome.

To tackle a bad habit thus, one has to understand that it is a sort of addiction that one needs to tackle. At the trivial level, we can indulge in techniques that can help calm and control our minds, such as, say, yoga and meditation to get rid of them.

Also, we can try occupying our minds by using distractions such as taking up hobbies or focusing on something else at the moment.

For major bad habits, we need to talk with experts and take rehabilitation if necessary.

Thank you.

If I Had A Super Power

Good morning to one and all present here. Today, I will be giving a short speech on the topic of  "If I Had A Super Power".

If I had a superpower, I would wish to be a wizard. I want to be a wizard and go train in Hogwarts. Oh, to see Platform Nine and Three Quarters!

Had I the superpower of magic, I would educate myself well in Hogwarts, no matter which House the Sorting Hat puts me in (although I secretly wish it would be Slytherin, just to break the stereotypes that revolve around it.) More than Quidditch and Defense Against the Dark Arts classes everyone usually takes a liking to, I want to excel in potions and be able to create a medicinal cure for the Muggle World problems, such as cancer, diabetes, and even AIDS.

Who knows, I might even become more famous with my good deeds that the Boy Who Lived, Harry Potter himself!

Thank you!

Humor and Wisdom

Good morning to one and all present here. Today, I'll be giving a short speech on the topic of "Humor and Wisdom".

"Humor"and "Wisdom" are two terms that seem vastly different and incompatible. Humour, after all, is associated with fools whereas wisdom is associated with the wise.

However, it is to be noted that the above notion is more often than not false. Yes, all humorous people cannot be wise. However, the opposite doesn't hold true. In many cases, wisdom and humor combined give rise to the powerful combination of a very smart person. Wielded together, the wit of such a person becomes almost lethally dangerous!

An example of how humor and wisdom put together result in an intelligent person can be seen in the character of "Touchstone" in the play "As You Like It" by Shakespeare. Ironically, even though he is referred to as the "Fool" in the Court of the Duke, he time and again proves that he is highly intellectual and witty.

Thank You.

Humor

Good morning to one and all present here. Today, I will be giving a short speech on the topic of "Humor".

Humor, as a noun and a verb, has different meanings. As a noun, it is defined by Google to be "the quality of being amusing or comic, especially as expressed in literature or speech." It is thus the tendency to induce laughter or elicit a smile. Simply put, it is to be "funny" or "hilarious".

Humor also happens to be a genre in the field of art, including literary works as can be seen from this definition.

It could be "a mood or state of mind" as well wherein being in good humor represents a good mood.

As a verb, Google defines it to be "comply with the wishes of (someone) in order to keep them content, however unreasonable such wishes might be." Here, it is, essentially, to indulge one's whims.

There also exist several types of humor including witty, satirical, deadpan/dry, self-deprecating, and dark.

Thank you.

Fog

Good morning everyone present here, today I am going to give a speech on fog. Fog is a specific kind of thin cloud made up of little water droplets suspended in the air close to the ground, which reduces horizontal visibility. Fog is described by Byers as “nearly microscopically small water drops floating in the atmosphere and decreasing the horizontal visibility to less than one kilometer.” It should be noted that while fogs are created by the radiation, conduction, and mixing of warm and cold air masses close to the surface of the earth, clouds are created by the ascent, expansion, and cooling of air.

When the moist air (with a relative humidity of over 97%) becomes saturated, reaches its dew point, and then cools further, water vapor condenses around dust, smoke, and other airborne contaminants to form tiny water droplets that are suspended in the air due to their extreme lightness.

These extremely little water droplets condense into smoky clouds that move with the wind. When the fog is particularly thick, there is complete darkness, and visibility increases. When visibility is limited to two kilometers, there is a light fog, also referred to as mist.

Fog often appears in the morning but can occasionally last until midday and is associated with a temperature inversion. In subtropical areas, fog is most common in the winter, but it can be found in all seasons above 35o latitude. Fog typically has a whitish color, but because of the mixing of smoke, dust, and fly ash over large cities and industrial areas, it appears dirty yellow or gray. Thank you.

Water Pollution

Good morning everyone.

Today I am here to talk about the alarming issue of water pollution. As we all know, water is one of the most essential resources for life on earth. Unfortunately, it is also one of the most polluted resources. Water pollution occurs when hazardous substances such as chemicals, plastic, and untreated sewage enter a water body, making it toxic and unsafe for use.

Water pollution has a negative effect on our health, ecosystem, and environment. It affects the quality of drinking water, damages aquatic life, and reduces the amount of usable water. It also affects our global climate, as polluted water can lead to the production of greenhouse gases. The causes of water pollution are numerous, ranging from agricultural runoff to industrial waste to sewage.

We are all responsible for preventing water pollution, and there are several steps we can take to do so. These include reducing the use of pesticides and fertilizers in agriculture, properly disposing of hazardous waste, and avoiding activities that can lead to water pollution.

In conclusion, it is important for us to recognize the serious consequences of water pollution, and to take steps to prevent it. By working together, we can reduce the amount of water pollution and create a healthier environment for ourselves and for future.
