Drug Addiction

Good morning all of you! Respected Principal, teachers and my dear friends. Thank you for being present here on this special occasion.

Today I am going to speak on the topic- "Drugs Addiction". Today's youth addiction to drugs has drawn my attention to this topic.

Drugs are chemical substances which have an effect on our body. There are two types of drugs, one is legal and the second one is illegal. The legal drugs are basically the medicines which we use in our everyday use for various problems in our body such as body ache, headache, etc. These drugs are to cure our body ailments.

But the illegal drugs are the ones that are used to get into the state of being intoxicated or drunk. This helps people to lose their senses and forget everything. Consumption of such drugs is illegal and can have an adverse effect on our body. It can affect us badly both physically and mentally.

Young people often start with just tasting of these drugs and then end up getting addicted to it. They do this due to various reasons. They consume it sometimes because of unfair expectations and stress. The drugs make them feel high and its after-effects are quite relaxing. But its effects, in the long run, can damage their brain, liver, etc.

Students also get into this drug addiction when they fail to get emotional support. So they turn themselves towards drugs to calm their agitation and anger.

Poverty is also one of the reasons behind this drug-selling network. Drug sellers target students and make them addicted to drugs. Initially, they give drugs to the students for free and once, they get addicted, they start charging them. They also target poor children and make them sell drugs in order to earn some money.

Drug consumption makes students mentally and physically weak. It also attracts various diseases. It makes students depressed and makes their recovery difficult.

In the end, I would request you all to stay away from drugs and always reach your parents and family to resolve any problems in your life. Drugs may look attractive initially but it has the capacity to destroy the future of a person. We should say complete "No" to the drugs.

Thank you.

Time Management

Dear Principal, teachers, and my dear friends. Very good morning to all of you. Today I stand in front of you to speak on the topic- Time management. I am presenting a short speech keeping the importance of our time in mind.

Time management is basically dividing, and allocating your time wisely to do important tasks in a day. You must be wondering why is it important or beneficial for us? There are various reasons for it.

Time management is very important for our careers. It is one of the key factors to success in any field of work. For example, if we won't devote an equal amount of time to all the subjects you study, we may not be able to score good marks in each of them and this will affect your percentage overall.

Time management teaches us patience and teaches us how much time is needed to be devoted to a particular activity or task. For example, our class test of 20 marks is usually for half an hour or 45 minutes but our final exams are for 100 marks and 3 hours.

Each work requires a certain amount of time. If we are spending more time on that work, we are wasting our time. Time is money. It should not be wasted. It is so precious that once gone never returns.

Time management also teaches us to balance our lives. We should not spend our day doing just one task. When we make a time table for time management, we include everything in it. For example, food time, playtime, exercise time, study time, etc.

If we do not do time management, we may spend more time on a particular task and may completely avoid another. For example, people spend more time in the office and completely forget to exercise which affects their health.

In short, time management demands attention as it is very important for our overall well-being. I would request you all to manage your time and live a balanced life.

Thank you.

Laughter is the Best Medicine

Good Morning to respected principal, teachers and my dear friends. Today I stand before you to suggest you good laughs as laughter is the best medicine. You guessed it right, the title of my speech is laughter is the best medicine.

We keep on stressing about a lot of things in life. Such as our grades, upcoming exams, our career, etc. Greater the stress, the greater is the risk to our health. Our immune system weakens with stress and tension.

But we have an inbuilt solution to this problem. Laughter is the best medicine. It has the capacity to make us forget all our problems and affects our health positively. Now you know why people early morning laugh so much in the parks near your house while performing exercises.

Laughter definitely brings good health to you and there are various ways through which it does its task. It relaxes the whole body. A good hearty laugh relieves all the physical tension and stress. It leaves the muscle relaxed for about 45 minutes.

It also triggers the release of endorphins. Endorphins are the body's natural feel-good chemicals. Laughter also protects the heart as it improves the function of blood vessels and increases the blood flow. This further protects our heart from various heart diseases.

Laughter may also help you to live longer too. This statement is based on a study in Norway. It was observed that people with a strong sense of humor lived more than the ones who laugh seldom.

In the end, I would like to request you all to laugh as much as possible. There are various ways to do so. Such as crack jokes, watch comedy films and shows. Try to spread some positivity and make people laugh!

Thank you all for lending me your ears.

I read it every day. My favorite books are Tom Sawyer and Oliver Twist.

Reading is considered a good hobby and it is recommended because of various reasons. It helps you to relax. It is one of the reasons behind people opts for reading. When you read a book and it is an interesting one, you forget everything around you. Forgetting everything helps in relaxing.

Reading can be done anytime and anywhere. Except at certain situations in which you cannot read such as while driving a car or a bike. All you need is a good book and a calmer place which will make your reading experience much better.

Reading improves knowledge and vocabulary. This further helps in improving communication skills. This is an important reason why people want children to develop a reading habit.

It also boosts imagination and creativity. It has the capacity to enhance creativity and explore life from different perspectives. When you read a book, you build new and creative thoughts and images and opinions in your mind.

Reading helps a lot when it comes to boredom. It makes a long train or bus journeys easy. It is very convenient to read a book when you are traveling.

My Hobby Drawing

Respected Principal, teachers, and my fellow students. Good morning to all of you. I stand in front of you to talk about drawing as one of my favourite things to do. The topic of my speech is – My hobby-drawing.

A hobby is an activity that is done regularly mostly in the free time and it is done for enjoyment. We all have some hobbies like singing, dancing, cooking, listening to music, etc. My hobby is drawing.

I love to draw since I was four years old. I used to scribble on the walls and make some easy caricatures using a pencil. I made cats, cartoons, flowers, etc. My mother realized that it is my hobby and she sent me to a drawing teacher to take drawing classes during summer vacations.

I started loving it more and more day by day. As my interest increased, I started taking drawing classes during winter vacation also. I polished my skill of drawing and today I can draw anything lying in front of me. It gives me great pleasure when I draw something.

Drawing has its own benefits. When you draw something, you do not just create a piece of art. You improve memory, you improve problem-solving skills, and you also improve creativity.

The health benefits of painting and drawing are endless. It is very clear that activities like drawing can cause an increase in emotional intelligence.

Drawing also promotes better mobility. As an individual will use a brush or pencil to create an artwork, he would develop more efficient hands movement. This results in the fine motor skills of an individual.

I have always done drawing because I love it but now as I shared, it has so many health benefits that one should try and develop some interest in it. You may not be very good at it but with practice, you will improve over time.

I have also improved over the years. Earlier, I used to draw the only objects but now I can draw scenery too. I have won many certificates and prizes in the drawing. I would like to be an artist one day. In the end, I would like to say that hobbies are very important. We all should have one.

Thank you.
