Save Water Save Life
Respected Principal, teachers, and my dear friends. A wonderful morning to all of you. Today I am going to share my views on Water day.
Water is a precious natural resource for humans. But not all humans are fortunate enough to have a regular and clean supply of water for them. There are various communities across the globe that face water shortages.
This day focuses on the importance of freshwater and the sustainable management of freshwater resources. This day also highlights the required improvements for access to water, sanitation, hygiene facilities in developing countries. Nations around the globe organize various events like lectures, discussions, seminars, nature talks to celebrate this day.
Each year this day is celebrated with a specific theme. Such as in 2019, the theme was "leaving no one behind". 2019 world water day theme aimed at providing water to all by the year 2030.
2020 theme of world water day is "Nature and Climate Change". It explores how water and climate change are linked to each other. It also focuses on facts like using water more efficiently will reduce greenhouse gases. The 2020 campaign also says that we cannot afford to wait. Everyone has a role to play.
Water is as precious as gold and we should not waste it. We need to save it not only because it is essential for humans but also it is a habitat of so many species. We should not pollute water. We should encourage water conservation techniques like rainwater harvesting and water recycling for sanitation and garden.
In short, world water day brings our attention to the importance of saving water.
Thank you.
Friendship
Respected Principal, teachers and my dear companions,
Today I stand before you to speak on the topic of friendship. Since man is a social being, he likes to make friends and share ideas, values and even have fun together.
Friendship is a very beautiful relationship. It is truly priceless as a bunch of good friends makes life easy and worth living. Friendship is something that can't be measured; it becomes strong with the number of years you invest in it. Memories and joyful moments made with friends is something a person cherishes his whole life.
Everyone needs friends in their joys and sorrows as it is rightly said, “a friend in need is a friend indeed”. True friends are really hard to find nowadays. So if someone finds them, one should never let them go. People who have true friends should feel always blessed. They can find many friends, but genuine friends are hard to find.
A true friend always cares for you, never judges you and accepts the way you are. A friend is someone you are most comfortable with and can share your feelings and thoughts. Friendship is a wonderful gift.
There is an old proverb which says that a man is judged by the company he or she keeps. Therefore, it is important to choose your friends carefully. To celebrate this beautiful relationship, friendship day is celebrated on 30 July every year in several countries of the world. It is also known as International Friendship Day. However, in some other countries, it is celebrated on the first Sunday of August.
This reminded me of a poem we used to recite at school when we were kids:
Friendship is a wonderful gift,
That people share together;
And if we keep this bond growing
We will be friends forever!
Thank you for listening to my speech so patiently.
Have a nice day!
Farewell for Students
Respected Principal, teachers, and my dear friends. Very good morning to all of you. Today, with heavy heart, I am here to present my speech on farewell as for many of our seniors, it is the last day of their school.
It is happy as well as a sad moment for many of us here. We are sad because goodbyes are not easy. We are happy too as you all will be starting a new life after school. Some of you will be anxious too for the upcoming board exams. I will take this opportunity to wish you all luck!
I would like to share that our school is one of the best schools in this whole city and we have a lot of expectations from all of you to do well in the exams and make us feel proud.
In previous years, most of the students have passed this examination with flying colors. We are sure that this time also the students will hold the record. I am not going to take much time of yours and will take this opportunity to share my personal experience which I felt throughout the time in the school.
As I am an active member of different clubs of this school, I want to share that I have never experienced any kind of bullying or raging from our seniors. I believe that our seniors have always been very cooperative with us and helped us to grow and learn in different fields. They have always been guiding light for us.
To make this day special, we also took the help of our seniors. I think this day's decoration and other preparations were not possible without them. I would like to thank all of you who put their contribution and efforts to make this day special.
Also, I would like to suggest our seniors to not to worry about your future and enjoy this day to the fullest. You all have always made our school proud and we know that in the future also, you all will do very well.
Thank you.
Child Labour
Good morning!
Respected Principal, teachers and my dear companions, I stand before u to speak on the topic of child labour. Child labour deprives children of their childhood, education and exploits children through different forms of work.
Child labour refers to manual labour done by children below the age of fourteen, to earn their living. It is not a new term. It has existed throughout history even during the 19th century, children of poor families used to work in factories, mines and work from home as well.
Most of the children work in inadequate working conditions and often get exploited by their owners. They work in factories where bangles and firecrackers are made. They work at very minimum wages with tough working hours. Sometimes they end up losing their eyesight. The agriculture sector also employs a large number of children, which leads to a high rate of child labour in rural areas.
Children are meant to learn not to earn. Poverty, lack of schools and lack of education among the parents are ruining their future. They simply don’t understand if they will learn today, they will be able to earn better tomorrow.
Child labour is evil for our society as it brings hindrance in the growth of it. The need of the hour is that government should make more strict laws against child labour, surprise visits should be made in the factories by the officers and fine should be charged from the lawbreakers of the country.
The government should come up with more welfare programmes for the poor people of the society. These few measures will help us to fight against child labour.
Thank you.
Self Confidence
Good morning! Respected principal, teachers, and my dear friends. Today I am here to present a speech in front of you on – "Self Confidence".
We all know that self-confidence means having a belief in yourself and your abilities.
It is freedom from doubt. It is something that needs to be developed internally. It cannot be taught but it is very important for a healthy and positive lifestyle.
One cannot achieve his/her goals without self-confidence. Self-confidence makes a person independent, eager, optimistic, loving and positive by nature. And all these characteristics are important to achieve goals in life.
It is not so that a confident person will always win and achieve success in life. But a self-confident person will always come over a difficult situation. He/she understands that it's not always about winning but about learning from your mistakes.
One can improve his/her self-confidence in many ways. The first step is to say what you feel. People shy away when it comes to express one's opinion. They also find it very difficult to say no to something they don't like. Saying no to something you don't like or are not comfortable with is very important. You don't need to feel guilty about it.
People also face the problem of presumption. This also shakes self- confidence. For example, you are going to a debate competition and you know that the opponent is very strong, you may feel nervous and pre-assume that you will lose. This can bring negativity and can affect your debate.
Another way to boost your self-confidence is to set realistic goals. If we set our goals too high, it can affect our self-confidence. For example, if you plan to finish a whole coursebook in a day. It is unrealistic. You may not be able to achieve this goal. A whole book cannot be learned in a day. You may feel low when unable to achieve this goal.
Similarly, if you set your goals too low, it also won't work for your self- confidence. For example, you plan to learn only one question-answer per day, this is very less work to be done to score good marks or to complete your course on time. Hence, you should always set realistic goals.
Remember, self-confidence cannot be built or boost in a day. It takes time. So keep working on your self-confidence and achieve your goals slowly and steadily.
Thank you.
