Humanity

Respected Teachers, Principal, and my dear friends.

Very good morning to all of you. Today I am here to present my speech on the topic- "Humanity".

The most important religion is humanity.

Humanity can simply be defined as the quality of being human. It is the peculiar nature of man by which he is being distinguished from other beings.

Humanity means helping and caring for others. Amongst so many species, humans have the capacity to show love and care and to help others.

Humanity means forgetting your own interests when someone needs your assistance. Mother Teresa, is a perfect example who thought about humanity and worked for it. Not all humans can portray humanity.

Only human beings have the power to comprehend humanity. We don't need a lot of money for humanitarian tasks. Giving a glass of water to a thirsty man or helping someone to cross the road is also a humanitarian task.

Humanitarian activities should not be done for fame or for a reward in return. It should be done as a part of our nature and duty. When we perform such activities, we get inner peace and blessings from the person whom we helped.

Every religion teaches us humanity, love, and care. And there is no religion above humanity. This is the reason we often hear people saying that humanity is their religion.

We should offer people our assistance irrespective of caste, creed, religion, and region.

Being human is our first identity. So we must comprehend humanity in our day to day lives as it is a reason behind our existence.

Thank you, everyone, for listening to me patiently.

Women’s Day

Respected Principal, teachers, and my dear friends. A wonderful morning to all of you. As we all have gathered today on a special occasion, I would like to say a few words on International Women's day.

Every year on 8th March International women's day is celebrated across the world. This is celebrated to appreciate the achievements of women and pay respect.

The first international women's day was recognized in 1911 in some of the European countries such as Austria, Denmark, Germany, and Switzerland. More than one million men and women took out a rally to campaign for women's right to work, education, vote, equality, and discrimination.

It was by 1975 during International Women’s Year, International women's day was officially recognized by the united nations and thereafter, it continued to gain international importance. In some countries like China, Russia, etc, International women's day is a national holiday.

This day is celebrated by event-based on women's theme. Even schools, colleges and offices also celebrate this day. The famous women personalities from different sectors like education, politics, Bollywood are invited to events, schools, and colleges to give speeches and to share their experiences.

In some offices and schools, women also receive gifts on this special day making it memorable for them. Students prepare speeches and presentations to present on this day. This day's importance is widely recognized as it is also an occasion to inspire commitment to the future challenges that women may face in making further progress.

In the past, women have been a victim of violence and deprived of their rights across the globe. They have suffered a lot and were seen as second citizens.

This day marks the women's empowerment and her victory in achieving equality and growth in her life. This day also recognizes the changes made over the years in every society for the development of women. It is also to remember the contribution of various feminists which led to the development of women.

Thank you.

Environment

Respected Principal, teachers, and my dear friends. Good morning to all of you.

Today I am going to speak on the topic- Environment.

The environment can also be understood as our surroundings or conditions in which all living, non-live and interact. It consists of all the living things on earth including air, water, sunlight, plant, animals, etc.

Our environment is very important to us as it provides us with our basic necessities to live such as food, shelter, air, and water. This way it plays a very important role in keeping the living beings healthy.

Every essential part of the environment has a role to play for us. For example, trees and plants filter the air we breathe and protect us from harmful gases in the environment.

We cannot repay the countless benefits we receive from our environment. It has helped us from years to grow and flourish but we are harming it every day. As a result, our environment is degrading.

Human activities are causing environmental degradation. We are responsible for air, water, and land pollution. We are also indirectly responsible for global warming, greenhouse gases, and ozone depletion.

We are overusing our natural resources. There are enough resources for man's need but not for man's greed. If we will keep consuming our resources at a faster pace, there will be nothing left for future generations for consumption.

Our environment has given us so much to lead a healthy life but in return, we are only degrading it. If we will degrade it completely, we will not be able to survive.

It is high time that we should pay some attention to environmental concerns. Initiatives like the plastic ban, promotion of the use of paper bags, growing more plants, car-pooling, etc are required in order to protect our environment and save it from further degradation. Our small efforts, for example, saving electricity, saving water helps save our environment.

It is our moral responsibility to protect our surroundings. When we can keep our house clean and protected, we can keep our environment too.

Discipline

Respected Principal, teachers, and my dear friends.

Good morning to all of you.

Today I am going to speak on the topic- Discipline.

Discipline, in simple language, means to obey rules. It is something that keeps you under control. It is of two types. One is "induced discipline" and second is "self-discipline".

Induced discipline is the one that is taught by others or that comes from outside. For example, in schools, we maintain discipline by following certain rules. Such as we cannot talk during assembly. We focus on prayers and other announcements. We obey these rules taught by our teachers.

Self Discipline is something which we learn by ourselves and it comes from within. We set our own rules which we think are good. For example, waking up early in the morning seven days a week to study or to offer prayers to god. Here, there is no outside pressure. We have set this rule for ourselves.

Induced discipline is usually followed in a group and comparatively easy to maintain. But self- discipline requires motivation and support of others to maintain because there is no external pressure to follow your own rules.

The discipline of both kinds is important in life as it helps us to achieve success in life. It helps us to focus on our goals. For example, if we wake up early, study properly, eat on time and exercise daily, it will keep us healthy, fit and focused. This way we can achieve our goals easily.

Discipline helps us to train our minds and body. It impacts a person's personality positively. It helps a person to get a lot of opportunities in the professional area as a disciplined person is considered hardworking too.

Our lives are incomplete without discipline. Hence, it is one of the key elements of our lives. It may look difficult to make it a part of our lives but gives a lot of benefits once we adopt it.

Thank you for lending me your ears.

Cleanliness

Respected Principal, teachers, and my dear friends.

Good morning to all of you.

Today I am going to speak on the topic- Cleanliness.

Cleanliness is an important aspect of healthy living. It is a state of being clean which means free from dirt and germs. The habit of maintaining cleanliness is as important as consuming food, drinking water and breathing.

This habit should be encouraged right from childhood as cleanliness is considered next to godliness which means maintaining cleanliness is just like devoting yourself to God.

It is considered so important because it helps us prevent many kinds of diseases. When we keep ourselves clean and also our surroundings clean, we protect ourselves from various kinds of viruses and bad bacterias that can make us fall ill.

It not only prevents various diseases but also keeps us and our surroundings look beautiful. A clean place always looks very attractive and neat.

There are ways to maintain cleanliness around us. It is not very difficult. A small effort by all of us can keep us and our surroundings clean. For personal cleanliness, we should take bath daily, wash our hands before and after a meal, brush our teeth twice a day, comb our hair daily, etc.

To keep our surroundings clean, we should always throw garbage in the dust bin, clean our surroundings with the help of a mop and broom, always pick up in case there is a drop on the floor while eating, etc.

Sometimes we focus only on personal hygiene or cleanliness of the house but not of our surroundings. For example, throwing garbage on the road after cleaning the house. This is not the right thing to do.

Maintaining cleanliness in our surroundings is as important as cleanliness in our house. So we should never throw a toffee wrapper or an empty can on the road. In the case of no dust bin nearby, we should wait to dispose of it properly.

It is very easy to create a mess but it takes a lot of effort to clean. We should always take small steps towards maintaining cleanliness and avoid actions that spoil the beauty around us.

Thank you.
