Don't Judge a Book by its Cover

A very good morning to one and all present here. Today, I'll be giving a small speech on the topic "Don't judge a book by its cover".

This is an age-old adage that I'm quite sure everyone is familiar with. This is a proverb that is also pretty self-explanatory.

One must never judge a person based on their outward appearance. One must not underestimate them either. Thus, critiquing a person based on their physical appearance, be it good or bad, is a very wrong thing to do. After all, appearances can be deceptive.

A person who is physically good-looking and dresses impeccably does not imply that their character is equally good. Similarly, a shabbily clothed person needn't be inherently bad either. The stereotype of "dumb blondes" is an excellent example of this too.

Always remember that appearance never equals a person's worth.

Thank you.

Discrimination

A very good morning to one and all present here. Today, I'll be giving a small speech on the topic of "discrimination".

Discrimination is the oppression of marginalized sections of society. It involves pushing them to the fringes or edges of society and depriving them of their basic rights as human beings.

Discrimination can be of many forms. The most predominant one is racial discrimination where people are discriminated against on the basis of the color of their skin and their racial ethnicity. Gender discrimination takes place predominantly against women. This can be seen when they are denied equality and basic rights, especially dignity and respect in education and workplaces.

In Pakistan, discrimination based on the caste system is also prevalent. This class hierarchy where people in the lower strata of society are discriminated against can be seen across various countries. However, measures are actively taken nowadays to improve this situation.

Thank you.

Empowerment

A very good morning to one and all present here. Today, I'll be giving a short speech on the topic of empowerment.

What is empowerment? Google defines empowerment to be "authority or power given to someone to do something." More importantly, it also states that empowerment is "the process of becoming stronger and more confident, especially in controlling one’s life and claiming one’s rights."

Thus, empowerment is a term that is associated with people who are marginalized and discriminated against. Women especially and communities that are downtrodden, such as the Black Community gaining power and autonomy is thus referred to as empowerment or emancipation.

It is often said that for one to be empowered, one must follow its four elements: autonomy, competence, community, and fulfillment. All four of these executed in harmony result in empowerment thus.

To be empowered is very important in everyone's life as we all deserve to be treated well and not oppressed. Let's all be empowered!

Thank you.

Emotions

A very good morning to one and all present here. Today, I'll be giving a small speech on the topic "Emotions".

Google defines emotions as "instinctive or intuitive feeling as distinguished from reasoning or knowledge". Human beings are thus often susceptible to emotions. Those who do not express human emotions, in fact, are labeled mechanical and robotic. Those who express fewer emotions are referred to as closed-off and stoic.

There is a wide spectrum of emotions that human beings are prone to feel. Some of the most common examples would be happiness, sorrow, anger, and grief. Other emotions include surprise, disgust, hope, hatred, anxiety, fear, lust, love, envy, jealousy, ambition, gratitude, pride, and vanity.

Emotions can further be categorized as positive and negative. Emotions such as happiness, love, gratitude, hope, and amusement are positive emotions. Negative emotions include sorrow, anger, envy, jealousy, and vanity.

Emotions thus are an integral part of human life.

Thank you.

Electronic Devices

A very good morning to one and all present here. Today, I'll be giving a small speech on the topic "Electronic Devices".

Electronic devices have gained much importance in today's world. In fact, life without electronic gadgets seems to be impossible.

There is no doubt that electronic devices had made our lives much, much easier. Communication is made very easy with the help of the smartphones we all possess today. Having a job without possessing a laptop is unheard of.

But these are not the only electronic devices that we use. Our life is filled with and made easier by various electronic gadgets such as television, refrigerator, washing machine, and air conditioners.

Speaking of entertainment, we have various electronic gadgets such as earphones and lately, airpods, video games and even playstations, and various other devices created solely for the purpose of pleasure. Simply put, electronic devices are irreplaceable in our lives today.

Thank you.

Elephant

A very good morning to one and all present here. Today, I'll be giving a small speech on the topic "Elephant".

Elephants are one of the largest animals in the world and are intelligent as a species. These four-legged creatures are herbivores. Their diet thus predominantly consists of leaves, plants, and grains. Bananas, commonly, are considered to be a favourite of theirs.

Elephants are mostly found in Asia and Africa. They are commonly grey and black in color. Thailand alone is known to have white elephants.

The average lifespan of an elephant ranges between 5 and 70 years. They live both in herds and in solitude. They are crucial in preserving the biodiversity of the ecosystem.

Nowadays, elephants are getting increasingly endangered. In our pursuit of enamel from tusks and leather, we are wiping away their habitat, subjecting them to cruelty and killing them off.

Let's vow to protect them.

Thank you.

Electricity

A very good morning to one and all present here. Today, I'll be giving a small speech on the topic "Electricity".

What is Electricity? Scientifically speaking, it is defined to be "a fundamental form of energy observable in positive and negative forms that occurs naturally (as in lightning) or is produced (as in a generator) and that is expressed in terms of the movement and interaction of electrons."

In layman's terms, it is a crucial form of energy without which human life today would be impossible. Especially, with the increasing dependence on technology we human beings are having, the need for electricity gains more and more significance with the passing day.

This is why saving electricity becomes all the more important. Being the non-renewable resource that it is, electricity ought to be used with utmost care so as to not let it all run out!

Save electricity, save future generations.

Thank you.

Craze Of Social Media

Good morning everyone present here, today I am going to give a speech on the craze of social media. Social networking websites have swept the globe. It is nothing more than a revolution that affected how people behaved in several ways. Social media has advantages, but worries about its negative effects, particularly among young people, are growing.

In the olden days, it was difficult to make friends unless one had a personal interest in getting out and meeting people. Now, we can connect with as many people as we want anywhere in the world and communicate with them for as long as we like, even for free. One of the best benefits of social networking sites, in my opinion, is that we connect with friends on them and share both positive and negative experiences with them.

But there are more drawbacks than advantages, some of which include Cyberbullying, texting, exposure to an illegal content, and privacy violations are just a few of the risks associated with using social media. One in three teenagers in relationships reports receiving up to 30 texts per hour from a partner inquiring about their whereabouts, activities, and companions.

For the time being, it seems as though the youth’s obsession with social networking sites is here to stay. We can lessen the negative impacts of social media on youth with the aid of education, parenting, and governmental advice. Youth around the world, who are most impacted by social media, must ultimately decide what effect it would have on them. The decision is now ours! Thank you.
